Letter to Parents
On behalf of the national organization, I take great pleasure in welcoming you and your daughter to Kappa Delta Sorority. We believe that your daughter will benefit from her association with Kappa Delta, through her collegiate chapter, as well as the national sorority. From her experiences as a collegian, and one day as an alumna, she will have the opportunity to grow as a person and develop many skills that will assist her throughout her life.
Kappa Delta is a national organization for women with a membership of more than 230,000 women. Membership in Kappa Delta is a lifetime experience, beginning now with her new member period. Following your daughter’s initiation, she will be entitled to all rights and privileges of full membership. Among these is the opportunity for leadership in her collegiate chapter and, as an alumna, a standing invitation to participate in any of KD’s 515-plus alumnae chapters nationwide.
Kappa Delta stands for the highest ideals. Our open motto, adopted in 1897, is “Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.” The sorority will not lower its standards for any single member – each one is expected to raise hers to meet those of the organization.
Again, welcome. We look forward to a lifelong association with your daughter – one that will bring much to her and to Kappa Delta.
